Hey, I'm looking to build a PC for gaming purposes. I have the OS but I'm looking for some second opinions on the guts of my machine. Any help would be appreciated!

I'm a little torn between the cpu above and [URL="http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103846&Tpk=AMD%20Phenom%20II%20X2%20555%203.2%20GHz"]this one.[/URL] Some have told me the latter is better, others the former. Ultimately, it would be best to keep this under 650, which is what it is right now. Like I said, this is my first build and any advice would be appreciated.
Can't really judge between the processors because I know very little about them but if you can stretch your budget, get a 5770, or a 460gtx. You will have a much better gaming performance with those then the 5750.
Get the quadcore AthlonII instead of the PhenomII dual core. only get the Phenom if you want to overclock and unlock an extra core or two manually.

or he can get an i3 and have it be faster and more overclockable than any amd in its price range
The Phenom II 555 is perfect for gaming. I've got one and it's excellent. I also managed to unlock another core and it's perfectly stable.
Have games started taking advantage of quad cores yet?

i3 has 2 less cores and overclocks more than twice as good and is faster at stock anyway. and not many games utilize quad cores.

I would rather get a slower quad then a faster dualcore, even though it is a Phenom II. Games are becoming more and more dependent on multiple cores, like Bad Company 2.

The OP is looking for a low budget CPU that still runs fairly fast. AMD is his best choice. If money was no object he'd probably go with an i7, but that is not the case.

yes it does in some tests, and with a ridiculously easy overclock to 3.4ghz it beats out the 965
