Battery wear level reversed itself, asking for an explanation

Ok, so, my laptop is about 3 years old. I haven't been using it as much since I got a desktop. 2 weeks ago I put it in sleep mode but forgot about it. A week later I find the laptop completely dead, so I plug it in and forget about it. Today, I turn it on to the battery light alternating between orange and green, I looked it up and apparently it means that there's a problem with the battery so I open up hwmonitor and I see that the battery wear level went down from 42% to 16% and the full charge capacity level went from ~47000mWh to ~66000mWh and the battery light is still alternating. What's going on here? Searching it up on google only gives me people asking how to undo the wear level with responses saying "it can't be done".
I would say the battery is bad. If the battery isn't charging properly and the battery monitor is reporting weird values, it's time to get a new battery.
You can usually get cheap decent batteries on Amazon. I could search for you if you had the battery model number and the laptop model.
I had this problem unfortunately you need a new battery, the good news is some quality batteries are quite cheap
