Become a gay prostitute
Ask for donations
I am REALLY CURIOUS about this.
Is this a real vending machine in a real place?
What kind of goods are you selling in your vending machine?
Where is it located?
Maybe what you need to do is tailor your goods to the audience that is around where the machine is. Figure out what they want, so you can have it available for them to buy.
Also since you are a small business owner, maybe you could do a little write-up with photos about who you are and how you are a small business owner and stuff, and frame that and attach it to the side of the machine.
People usually are willing to spend a little more money when they think they are buying from another person, and not a big corporation.
I had a friend who did the vending machine thing. He made money but it seemed to be a major pain in the ass. I went on a couple of rounds with him, hitting all his locations to collect the money/restock the machines.
Many of them were jammed or otherwise fucked with by people. He spent a lot of time fixing shit.
Most of them had less money in them than it cost to drive to them to check on them.
From what I could tell you need two things to make this worthwhile- A reliable source of cheap items to sell(whether its candy or snacks or whatever). The single largest source of profit is the markup per item, so having a super cheap supply is critical.
Next you need good locations, places where people tend to buy the stuff you're selling. You need to make sure that you don't waste time checking up on nonprofitable machines.
