I thought the burnout team were already making a spiritual successor for EA? They showed alpha footage at some E3.
The only game I've played on the franchise is Burnout Revenge for the PS2.
It was soooo good, crashing and destroying vehicles is fun.
Shame there aren't many games like this. Now all car games are dull simulators.
Burnout Legends on the PSP holy shit I sunk too many fucking hours on that for a portable game. Burnout Paradise was also a huge timesink when it went free on PSN+

Same here. My friends call me a scrub for not playing burnout 3: takedown, but my dad and I had hundreds of hours of fun with burnout: revenge.
I would absolutely kill for a successor to burnout.

On the contrary. While there aren't any games like Burnout left, a lot of racing games are in-fact very arcade and action oriented. "Dull simulator racing games" are the minority.
God a paradise 2 with updated graphics, bigger map, more cars, fuckin a I would buy 3 copies.
I liked paradise so much that I DID buy three copies. I have several thousand hours in that game.
So good. Even today it's fun to load up because not many racing games have the same sense of speed as paradise does. Even in the beginner car it feels like I'm doing 9000 mph.
Burnout 3 handing with both open world and closed tracks and modern graphics would be great.
I may be in the minority but I did not like burnout paradise at all. I didn't think the open world gameplay meshed with the burnout style of racing. I would really like to see something like takedown or revenge pop up again.
I thought Paradise was boring as hell. I'd rather have them use the 2/3/Revenge formula again. I really liked the crash modes and the Burnout 2 police challenges were also a neat thing to have.
The OST in Paradise was also really lame.

I'd post more soundtracks but heh :v:
I'm of the opposite opinion of Paradise being the best in the series and the other ones feeling lacking. I had so much fun just running people down online after they were trying so hard to get long stunt combos going. See that 5 million point combo you have going? Now you have a 0 point combo and I beat you.

You may want to try out the NFS Hot Pursuit Criterion made, it's more Burnout than Paradise in my opinion.
I didn't like the open world either.
burnout 3 is best burnout by far
Burnout Legends on PSP
younger me spent so many hours on that game until I unlocked everything it had to offer
burnout 3 is best burnout by far
Burnout 3, Burnout Legends and Burnout Revenge are pretty similar and I think they're all equally good.

HEY HEY YOU YOU I DON'T LIKE YOUR GIRLFRIEND

Nah. Even thought I loved Paradise, I do agree that the burnout racing feel just got lost with the introduction of open world racing, as it very often meant that there was no one else close to you

Burnout Legends pretty much was a copy of Burnout 3, but portable
God I loved it
I feel like the only one hoping for it to be open world again. I loved just driving around the map practicing my drifts n shit.

Agreed, Paradise does not feel nearly as fast or as intense as 3 does. I still have a copy of 3 for the ps2.
I wish they would re-release it on current consoles, because that game would benefit hugely from an increased resolution.

Burnout Revenge looks and runs wonderfully in the PCSX2 emulator (at 4x native res), and I'm sure Burnout 3 does as well.
Please be like B3, please please please.

Some of the old team are working on a new game but its not a burnout successor. Something about a large mix of extreme sports/vehicle racing.
I liked burnout 1. Am I cool now? (But seriously I really enjoyed 1)
