I'm having a really annoying problem. Every few minutes when I'm playing a game, my FPS drops really bad. It's like playing a slideshow. It will do this for a few minutes, then the computer will completely freeze for a second, then go back to being normal and working fine. Then after another few minutes, it does it again. People talking on vent still sound fine and not laggy, and my mouse still moves around without jumping. I've checked task manager when my computer is doing this, and I'm not having any jumps in memory or CPU usage.
I've run a couple of virus scans, which didn't come up with anything, and tried doing a system restore. That didn't work either. This problem has only started happening in the past couple of weeks. I can't think of what the problem might be. Any suggestions?
Should've made a better title so people would read and help.

Nothing is running hot at all, so it's not that.
Well if you want bad advice follow mine.
Format.
That is all.
Get CCleaner it might be able to help and delete all the 'system restores' it gives you (it automatically blocks one of them) and clean the registry along with clean up other crap.

I use to have this kind of problem I used ccleaner and it worked for me see if it'll do the same for you.
If nothing else, fresh install. If your installation is VERY old it can help. But use CCleaner, update your drivers and check all your heat-sinks.

Windows likes nothing better then to be reinstalled.
