The invitation comes with the tagline "Come see what 2011 will be the year of." Apple on Wednesday sent an invitation to media inviting them to a special event on March 2 in San Francisco, Calif. According to the invitation received by The Loop, the event will be held at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts at 10:00 am. This is the same venue Apple has used to introduce a number of products in recent years.
Nice, According to sources the iPad 2 is already in full production. So the announcement is highly likely.
Faster/dual core processor, more ram, more pixels/retina display. What's going to be a big innovation? interface?
I really hope they drop the price a good 100-200USD, I mean thats what they did with the iPhone.
Is there going to be a way to view the actual presentation instead of just getting notes?
Faster/dual core processor, more ram, more pixels/retina display. What's going to be a big innovation? interface?
mixelpixel tm where pixels are colorful-er buy now for 12 grand
Faster/dual core processor, more ram, more pixels/retina display. What's going to be a big innovation? interface?
Widgets, if they have any sense. No doubt accompanied by some smug posturing, acting like no-one had thought of widgets before.
Is there going to be a way to view the actual presentation instead of just getting notes?
Itunes/Quicktime for Mac users, online stream everywhere else that might get taken down or be too choppy.
Widgets, if they have any sense. Mo doubt accompanied by some smug posturing, acting like no-one had thought of widgets before.
And a semi-decent notification system. Hopefully.
And this is why, 1984 will be exactly like "1984". But seriously, I'm creeped.
And a semi-decent notification system. Hopefully.
Considering that iOS is usually pretty elegant, the push notifications really feel primitive and out of place. Not likely they'll change it anytime soon, but we can hope.
I really hope they drop the price a good 100-200USD, I mean thats what they did with the iPhone.
They literally have no reason to; the competition isn't pushing them to drop the price at all. Everything so far has been equal to or higher than the iPad.
But when are the new Macbooks coming out?
I saw a guy at the Apple store today buying an iPad, felt bad for him.
The iPad 2 will just have the stuff that the original iPad should have had. Apples way of making money out of foolish people like you.
But when are the new Macbooks coming out?
They're out today.
The iPad 2 will just have the stuff that the original iPad should have had. Apples way of making money out of foolish people like you.
Foolish people like us? you so crazy! You're saying people who buy an ipad should have bought a windows/android tablet instead, because they don't want to make money out of us? Granted the tablets recently released have had cameras, multitasking and the like out of the box. Great to have but when the tablet isn't very good or has lacklustre performance/battery life while not having as slick UI as an iPad its not winning many over. Even the Russian president disliked the Galaxy Tab's camera. Looking at the Xoom tablet its a shame Motorola and Google had to rush out with an unfinished product to beat the iPad 2 release. Its marketed with 4G and "full flash enabled web" features but you have to send the tablet back to Motorola in 90 days to get the modem installed, and flash isn't done yet surprise surprise.
No, what I mean is that the iPad originally should have had a camera, etc when it first came out.
Retina display? Oh god, that means it's driving a 22in screen in full
No, what I mean is that the iPad originally should have had a camera, etc when it first came out.
Technology is fast changing and very competitive as a market. Apple could have poured hundreds of features into the first iPad last year meaning it wouldn't be due an update for a few years. By doing that however, competitors can slowly one up the iPad with newer technology. Everyone wants and is willing to pay for the fastest newest thing in Apple's eyes so a yearly refresh. It's the same for the majority of electronics. Your statement could go for most of those who invest in technology, yearly refreshes are very common and if it brings it more money why shouldn't they do it?
Any chance there will be information about the next iPhone, too?
Any chance there will be information about the next iPhone, too?
Maybe some new interface elements could be used in the iPhone, but a separate event would cover it in June.
never will need a ipad
never will need a ipad
But its got the A5 chip! http://www.engadget.com/2011/02/24/sources-ipad-2-lands-in-thinner-body-with-spec-bump-and-cameras/
SD card ports, camera and a fully operating DVD player and I'll buy it
I'll only care about this thing if it comes with a digitizer.
The iPad 2 will just have the stuff that the original iPad should have had. Apples way of making money out of foolish people like you.
"I'm smarter than you because i don't buy a product"
SD card ports, camera and a fully operating DVD player and I'll buy it
No SD Card, but you can get a converter that plugs into the connector which can take an SD card or a USB device. Camera confirmed but a DVD player? in a tablet? U MAD
Yay for no SD card and same display. [editline]25th February 2011[/editline] Better have some proper hand-writing capabilities with a stylus. [editline]25th February 2011[/editline] Haha.
So uh... With Jobs practically a skeleton due to cancer (Was that ever confirmed?), who's speaking at the conference?
So uh...
