I don't know about videos or if Android has a similar function, but on the iPhone you can just screencap the image by holding the home button and pressing the power button. Just keep one finger on the screen and it saves. :v:
If you got Cydia, you can get the Phantom tweak which allows you to save images/videos and to record longer then 10 seconds :v: Or at least thats what the Snapchat thread said.

Yeah well lots of companies sell useless shit and simple stuff and make a ton off it so...
It tells the other person if you do that (which is weird, because I thought apps don't normally have access to that)
You could probably use something else than the stock thing to take the picture then. Also video recovery is easy as shit, not gonna post it in this thread. If you want to see it, go to the Snapchat Adventures and search for that one post of mine.
it was able to retrieve pictures from Android-powered devices using forensic software.
No fucking shit, hell any device, even iOS devices can have that happen. I don't think it's encrypted either so people on your wifi can get them too.
Newsflash: something that has been possible since the Planck epoch is still possible

But if you're really desperate I guess you could just photograph the screen with another phone / camera.
Ahaha, I died are people really that dumb? I thought it was common knowledge that things you send aren't really "deleted". Oh well! Also, in android we don't have those fancy settings :c
nothing's deleted until you remove it yourself with a microscope and a magnetized needle
