Before you post, a custom built is out of the question.
My friend's son has his 13th birthday coming up and he wants to get him his first desktop. His budget after kb+m and monitor is around $600.
I'm looking for something that he can upgrade in the future as well, better graphics, etc.
His son is mostly playing games like minecraft, terreria, and "some fantasy games" as he tells me. He's not too knowledgeable in technology either which is why getting a custom build is out of the question. I tried convincing him to go the custom route but he won't budge, so please don't post saying he should just build it.
So in general, something thats modern and can be upgraded would be preferred. Thanks

Nevermind, that coupon code expired a bit ago. They pop up every now and then if you keep an eye on slickdeals.net's computer section, and something that would actually fit the budget range would be the Inspiron 3847 with a graphics card..
I was also looking at the ibuypower options. Are they any good? Seems like you can put whatever parts you want in there no hassle.
With sites like ibuypower, you miss out on sales and deals to pay every part at full value, so finding a prebuilt that's on sale and chucking a graphics card in it is usually cheaper.
Keep an eye on the slickdeals computers page and Dealzmodo. every day, as deals change and go fast day to day, and you'll eventually stumble across something that's within your price range and works right.
