Yeah right, since when has that happened?
On topic:
Is nobody going to mention the fact that this research was done by the media industry?
Nearly all the UK's favourite movie and TV piracy sites "contain malware or credit card scams", according to a study published by the media industry.
Late as fuck bro
Although the same scientists responsible for figuring that out have now discovered Fire really hurts, pretty fucking awesome if you ask me
Anyone else think of Adblock as soon as the article mentioned the fake buttons
I want to stab whoever came up with these ads simply because they make looking for the one correct download link on a page like a game of "Where's Wally?!" except it is played more like "Where's the right fucking download link?!?!?".

the first thing i did when i helped out my grandparents with their new computer was to install ad block.
yet somehow, a couple of weeks later, they had caught a browser hijacker.
if you fall for shit like that you kind of are an idiot
I'm talking about obviously bad ads
BREAKING NEWS EVERYONE:
Water is wet!
And that's why you adblock. Those aren't even particular to piracy sites, I've seen them on sourceforge and even the download page for PC Decrapifier. The actual download is smaller than the ads, so it's pretty goddamn misleading.
It reaches the point where I need to download any app a friend needs instead of telling them to go do it themselves.
also, softonic downloader.

piratebay always seems to get past adblock

then you're using the wrong one. I use ABP (AdBlock plus) and it catches everything.
