My dad is giving me his comp and I want to keep all of my games and such, would it be a problem to use my hard-drive in his computer?
Yes. If it is a P-ATA (Big ol Ribbon cable that attaches to the backend of it), and uses a filesystem the destination PC can recognize. You can do that without any problems.

Although it tried booting the laptop's install of Ubuntu which obviously isn't going to work well when the laptop is a Core 2 Duo and my PC is an Athlon II X4.
