Had to wait 5 fucking extra hours for the damn thing to get here because the delivery guy was busy fucking some poor animal somewhere, and now that it gets here I can't install the drivers for the life of me.
If I don't get to play Crysis on my new graphics card that I spent WEEKS trying to find and even longer for it to be delivered, I'll fucking EXPLODEEEEE! LIKE POW MUTHAFUCKA!
When I try to run the XFX installation CD that comes with it, NOTHING HAPPENS! Just BLANKNESS! I tried going INTO the dvd and running setup.exe manually, but to no avail.
THEEEEEN I went to AMD's website to download the drivers manually. THE FUCKING INSTALLER CRASHES ON EVERY SINGLE COMPATIBILITY MODE POSSIBLE! I tried three different packages that include the drivers, NONE WORKED!
I'm running Windows 7 64-bit and here's what I've tried so far:
-Uninstall previous drivers
-Clean registry
-Reset CMOS via MoBo jumper
-Reset BIOS settings
-Piss in mouth
-Gargle piss and spit at monitor
-Repeat, spitting at tower instead
-Dry-humping I/O socket
NOTHING FUCKING WORKS!!!! AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!
Help me bitches!
[editline]03:25AM[/editline]
ARGHAHGHAHAHGAAAAAAHH!
cool story bro.
did you try using DriverSweeper?
just a longshot chance it might work.

Is your computer plugged into the power outlet?
Is your monitor on?
Hit up the ATI support?
Wouldn't work anyway cuz whenever I start the computer after uninstalling it tries to install it as a STANDARD VGA ADAPTER!!! Plus the programs won't even start. NONE of them. Everything else works fine. WHAT THE FUCKING SHIT!
Check the box your graphics card came in; is it still in there? If so, install it into your PC.
I can only imagine that Windows is to blame. Boot with Vista(if you can somehow) and see if the drivers work then.

Are you trying to install catalyst 9.1.0?
If you are, they don't work on windows 7 64-bit.
Go into device manager, and find graphics adapter, install drivers from there.
Or do it off the disk, at least those work.
You want to fucking reformat? For TROUBLESHOOTING? That's a last fucking resort. I have 1.6 TB of programs and files that I do NOT have time to restore.
Also, the satire is fucking HILARIOUS guyz. I hope you all die you insensitive tits.

rate me b0xes
Settle the fuck down.
I'm in windows 7 and i have the 4870, catalyst doesn't install on my machine either. We're gonna have to wait for them to come out with a patch.
Jesus christ you are over-reacting way too fucking much.

You need help. (And I mean mental, not technical)
Other option is to find older drivers off of an alternative website.
Here, try this link: [url]http://www.techspot.com/drivers/driver/file/information/12726/[/url]
I think AMD's driver website is connecting to vista downloads whenever you get the windows 7 patch.
If I reformat to Windows 7 32-bit would I be peachy-keen?

x86 sucks
With your gpu, probably, but you loose pretty much all access to your RAM.
Okay, I managed to get it working, but it's really half-assed and I can't use HDMI (Have to use DVI).
It'll have to do.
[editline]04:20AM[/editline]
HOLY SHIT FUCKING AVERAGED 82.57 FPS IN COUNTER-STRIKE: SOURCE ON MAX SETTINGS!
(that's a big deal for me coming from a Mac with an ATI X1600)
9.10 works for me in WIndows 7 64-bit.
Matix how high are you talking? 16xAA 16xAF 2560x1600 high?

but CS:S isn't hard to render stuff, it's easier than gmod i know that. and i get about 200 fps in gmod with a 4870.
[editline]10:35PM[/editline]
which means you should be getting like 400 or 500 fps.
uhh is the 6 and 8 pin in?
wait there's an 8 pin?
i'd better not buy it then
[editline]04:37AM[/editline]
only got 2 6-pins :(
oh maybe it is 2 6pin
[editline]11:38PM[/editline]
and you can do molex to 8pin
I have an 5870 and Windows 7 x64. All you have to do is go to ati.com and click drivers and support. Then put in 5870 and windows 7 x64 and click the download, then install it and restart :P
Also you should be getting much higher than 85 fps on CS:S
Bro, you need anger management. When working with computers you need to be patient no matter the problem. Unless your computer bursts into flames, then you may proceed to panic and rage.
Well I got the two 6-pins in. It's probably just the half-assed driver installation I had to do.
I installed the drivers just fine on windows 7 64 bit. They work just fine too.
Is your electricity on?
