You've gotten the opportunity of becoming a robot. If you accept, your brain will be placed in a robot body and your body will be dissected for organ donation. No turning back. PROS - You will keep all your thoughts, memories and your personality - You will live forever - You will never get sick, except for your brain (we'll get into that later) - You are super strong - You are super fast - You cannot be killed, and even if you were killed the memory chip from your robot can be put in a new one - You no longer need to sleep, eat, drink or breathe - You're waterproof, too - You can have artificial flesh applied to your body so you still appear human CONS - You can no longer taste or smell - You no longer feel warmness or coldness - Everyone you've known in your entire life will die before your eyes - You cannot have children unless they're adopted - Your immense power may scare others - More likely to be drafted into the military - Possible robot racism - The longer you live, the more your brain will die. As it dies, it will be slowly replaced with technology until you are completely robotic, with absolutely nothing human left in you. You will still retain your memories and you will still be you, but you won't be you... you know? Would you become a robot? I think I would.
Do I have the option to wait until I'm near death? Maybe have a card on me like organ donors that says "IF DEAD PLEASE PUT IN ROBOT".
to fulfill my destiny yes

Fuck that. Death is natural. I want to be me when I die. [editline]21st May 2014[/editline] I don't want to have to listen to this music for the rest of my life also.

Use my additional computer brainparts to figure out a method of traveling at near light speeds. I apply this upgrade to my mechanics. Tell nobody of my robotness. Eventually, a Terminator reboot will occur. The porn industry will jump for the chance at a parody. I apply and join the team. My time has come. Shooting begins. I pull all of the classic Ah-nold stereotypes, finishing each scene flawlessly amongst a horde of beautiful bimbos. It's now time for the climax. The director yells to start rolling, and I begin pounding into the girl who's leaning over in doggystyle, begging me for my presumably human penis. I start to go faster, and faster still. She looks distressed but the curious director motions to keep filming. My increasing speed begins to cause heat to disperse throughout the area between me and the girl, to the point where temperature begins to give her degree burns. The film crew watches in horror. She passes out and eventually dies, but I continue to increase in speed, the temperature caused by friction causing my artificial flesh to melt away. She becomes increasingly charred as the camera shows what used to be a regular porn shoot transformed into a T-800 fucking what's increasingly looking like a large lump of coal. As my oil runs low and my limbs become creaky, I stop for a moment, only to give out one incredibly hard thrust. She explodes into ashes. The director, fear dwelling in his eyes like the deepest black hole, barely utters "...cut." It becomes a best seller.
Only if having my brain transplanted into the body of a fully grown polar bear is off the table.
Oh hell yeah, I would so take up the chance to be the first Necron! Any price is worth immortality.
I'd stay as a human thanks.
It is my not-so secret dream to be a part of a machine. Yes, I would.
How about android? It's a good middle ground between man and machine.
hmm....I prefer to rot away in the dirt.
A human robot.. Yes.. Why the fuck not? Especially if I had some important job/purpose to live for, which would be very likely in that case.. I don't see any other way of exceeding 200-year lifespan (or more), unless some crazy sophisticated gene-modification approach is taken.
How about android? It's a good middle ground between man and machine.
you mean a cyborg right? an android is an artificial construct that looks like a human. what sort of middle ground would that be?
- You can no longer taste or smell
This is probably the only reason why I'd refuse. Not being able to eat anymore, no fucking way. That and immortality sounds like an absolute nightmare, imagine "living" until all humanity dies off and wandering alone forever until your body falls apart.
Centurion Cylon (re-imagined) :downs:
Yes, I think I would accept a robot transformation. It would give me everything I needed to survive, and improving myself would be a simple matter of installing the necessary upgrades. Watching those I care about die would be unpleasant, of course, but it would happen anyway, and the mind of a robot would probably help me cope with it. Superhuman speed and strength and the like would be very beneficial, and my profession wouldn't really matter, so bring on military service. Death won't matter much anyways if military conflict proves intense. And regardless of whether I become a robot or whether I choose a natural death, my brain and consciousness will decay and disappear after a period of time, the only difference being it will either decay in a coffin or in a metal body. Thus, I really might as well choose a robotic form, because that way, my form will still be of some use once I myself am gone. The only real qualm I have about this is how others will perceive me after my transformation, and whether it will hurt them if I choose to become a robot.
But i am already a robot it even says so in my name! but in all seriousness I would rather stay human.

Also, since you're a robot, you can basically speed up time using frameskip on the cameras in your eyes. Then, you could find a new planet and you could tell them how your technology works so they can make you a new robot.
Would we be able to have sex, and could we come up with "artificial" feelings?

Can I put my brain in a Adrian Barbeaubot?
Would we be able to have sex, and could we come up with "artificial" feelings?
You could reprogram yourself to simulate unimaginable pleasure?
I'd go half n half. hands and legs can go. some organs too Get the best of both worlds
Praise the Omnissiah!
Depends. Can I choose what I look like?
I would love to be transformed into a robot any day. who the hell needs the ability to touch, taste, feel, smell, whatever, If I could make my self a robot, I could just remove my ability to get bored of things, or be programmed to have constant euphoria by the flick of a switch. The 'purpose' of having human senses in the first place was essentially to prolong human survival & reproduce, when you cant die, there is no longer any need for senses and no need to reproduce. Its literally perfection.
And plus, there's no reason why the robotic replacements for your brain would make you unfeeling. If they are well-crafted imitations of the actual human brain, you would just stay the same.
To answer some questions... You cannot be half robot - half human. You can have sex (no ejaculation though) and you do have emotions. You're still human, you're just in a robot body. You can choose what you want to look like, but there will be exceptions. You can't be a celebrity or someone else. You have to come up with what you want to look like yourself.
