Krita is really nice. It fills the modern digital art FOSS gap quite nicely.
From what i've been told krita's brush engine is the best out here, although it's quite resource heavy.
I suppose you'd have to expect resource heaviness when outputting something of high quality.
Krita is what I moved to from SAI when I got my Surface Pro 4, since it lets me draw with my pen and pan with my fingers. Corel kept picking one of my fingers and using that for drawing instead, and SAI didn't register my fingers as touching buttons at all!
Does it have the functionality where I can rest my hand on the screen while drawing with pen and it won't fuck it up? I haven't been doing much drawing with my SP3 because the default Windows app is pretty trash and featureless.
Yep! I still draw with my hand rested on the screen too (even if it does get quite toasty at times) and I haven't had any issues with it so far.
The only thing I need now is proper touch gestures and things to make undo/redo faster!
