The power of hats strikes again it seems

It'll probably be overthrown by BLOPS3 for a bit though

The console versions will destroy CS in terms of player count, the PC version stands no chance.
and I'm sure CoD is 1,000 times more popular in the console market but I can jack my e-peen too

PC is seriously such a small percentage of their total player count it's ridiculous

With 25 million copies sold of Black Ops 2, and almost 17 million of CSGO. I wouldn't really consider that getting destroyed.
They are probably going to be winning again a month after release.

And just as importantly, how many of those 17 million CSGO sales are Smurfs and Hackers?
Probably also has to do with Activision's refusal to discount Call of Duty, while CS:GO is occasionally below $5.
Why is this even an article? Blops 3 literally comes out tomorrow. Compare the stats then.

EA doesn't publish Call of Duty, Activision does.

Considering how good the PC port seems to be this time around. Weeeelll

How many copies of disks do you think are lost, returned or destroyed at some point? Console games go by physical copies which is purely by retailers buying copies of games as well. It's very possible millions of copies of a game will sit in a warehouse or on a shelf for years even until cleared out or even sold to another retailer.

There isn't CSGO on consoles anyway.
Or well, there is, but it doesn't really counts at all.

What a forgettable title
Didn't even know blops 3 was out...

Does this matter btw? For example GTAV was released like 3 times (old-gen, new-gen, PC 1st person), with bunch of people buying the game as many times.
Ridiculous I know, but still.
Oh, they added hats to CS:GO? Dope /s
Come on dude, the word "hats" is referring to all kinds of custom paid cosmetic crap, that's it.
A Valve game is more popular than a non-Valve game on Steam? Who would've thought?
Seriously how is this news? The top games on Steam have been Valve games for a long time.
Tens of people surprised.
Counter Strike: Global Offensive is a game that is PC, Steam exclusive and is growing in popularity.
Call of Duty is a multiplatform game that has always been behind the game when on the PC
Hah, this thread reminded me of how CS:GO was kinda developed with consoles in mind and how it was supposed to be supported as well and stuff. Never heard of CS:GO on a console since the launch despite being released on console
Original CS was released on the first Xbox I don't know how popular it was
