Ok, so I wanted to update my Nvidia GT9800, when I downloaded and installed the driver it failed. And now my computer's desktop looks like this: what can I do, I need help FAST PLEASE.
Roll back the driver in device manager.
Use Driver Cleaner Pro to remove anything Nvidia.
Re-download and re-install latest drivers.
Is that not how it looks when the color is set to 16-bit and not 32-bit?

I can't rollback! FUCK FUCK!

Help, someone? I tried everything that MTMod said....
Get rid of the family guy stuff first.
:P
Then, just reinstall Nvidia's drivers. It should roll over them, if i'm not mistaken. They did when I had this problem.
7 32-bit or 64-bit?

Install the old drivers again if you can.
Then uninstall them, restart twice, then install the new drivers and install them.
Tedious, I know. But it worked for me.
For everyone, its windows 7 64 bit. And I have not fixed the problem yet.

Try a different PCIe slot.
Your best chance, really, is to back up and reinstall windows. It should install all drivers for you. Because i had this problem and that was the only solution.
How, do I reinstall windows 7

What do you mean exactly?
What do you mean exactly?
Sorry restart.
Just do what the drivers asks.
These new drivers block windows from installing their 'safe drivers' and continues with the Nvidia drivers.
Much better approach then previous drivers!
(gtg now, will check this thread in a few hours again,gl)
The one you linked does not work....
Whats the error?
Whats the error?
Try this driver sweeper, and let it delete nvidia display and physx.and then try again with the drivers i linked.
From what card did you upgrade?ATI or Nvidia?
I did not upgrade, I had this card since I got my computer.
[editline]01:59PM[/editline]
Did not upgrade from a card.
Don't reformat. That's a last resort. You're sure you tried rolling back the driver properly? Right click your desktop and click screen resolution. Click advanced settings and then the properties button under the adapter tab. Click "roll back driver" under the driver tab.
Otherwise, go back to the window that's under the adapter tab and click the monitor tab. Make sure it's on 32-bit.
HERE is the correct driver for your card. Try re-installing it one more time.
If one of the above works, try a system restore.
But everytime I install a driver it says "System has not been affected. If you want to install the program later, you will need to install the program again"
Badly translated from danish, but that is what it says....

Remove every trace of the old driver with Drive Sweeper (google it)
Then download the correct Nvidia driver and instal that.
If it still doesnt work you might want to try reseating your GPU.
Will buying a new card solve it???
