Problems with bloatware and multiple installed copies of C++ 05

Hey.

I was looking to remove some bloatware, and went to uninstall some stuff. Scrolling down, I saw I had SEVEN copies of Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable (three were 2008 version, four were 2005 version). I've had Steam games install this as part of their installation. What are they, and why are there so many?

Oh, and I have 81-83 processes running at a time. Is there a way to quickly create a list of them with info on them?
