Need help with LOT-3 Tape drive - Won't fucking work

Title describes issue

I power it on in my Netfinity server and it beeps a few times and the LED's flash fucking DERP DERP DERP style then start winding a little piece of tapearound in the drum (Is this normal?) and it then winds the other way then does the whole process again

Any ideas?
