Well my friend is building a new computer. He bought everything he needs to build it but he wanted to know if the video card he bought will be enough to play games like Company of Heroes and Empire Total War and all the source games. Here's the link to the video card. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130541&cm_re=512_mb_graphics-_-14-130-541-_-Product much appreciated. EDIT: Here's some links on what he is getting. Yeah that should play said games quite well. Do you know the other parts he bought and what was the total?
He didn't give me much info on his build Just that his budget is 800$ (now has 200$ left over) and he plans to install only 2 gb of ram for now and is going to install Windows 7
Get a 4650. Its the same price yet far superior. [editline]11:23PM[/editline] http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150393

Well now that you showed me that chart I'm gonna see if he'll want my old HD 4850 EDIT: Yeah sounds like he did mess up I would've helped him with his build But he hasn't been on Steam much Oh well guess he'll learn from his mistake
Try and find out the specs before he actually buys them. If he did, list them anyway so we can make fun of him. [editline]04:31PM[/editline]
Well now that you showed me that chart I'm gonna see if he'll want my old HD 4850
Give him that. 4850s beat the 4650s and the other card you listed by a noticeable difference.
He got an $800 build with only 2gigs of RAM? Sounds like he messed up.
2GBs is fine. You don't need anymore unless you like to do rendering and compiling. I never use over 1.8GBs while gaming and I have 2GBs.
2GBs is fine. You don't need anymore unless you like to do rendering and compiling. I never use over 1.8GBs while gaming and I have 2GBs.
His friend could have fit another 2 gigs in the budget. Anyways, still waiting for his specs.
2GBs is fine. You don't need anymore unless you like to do rendering and compiling. I never use over 1.8GBs while gaming and I have 2GBs.
yeah he won't be playing graphic intense games like Crysis, He's mostly into games like Company of Heroes and Empire total war And as for his specs I have to wait until he comes back on
yeah he won't be playing graphic intense games like Crysis, He's mostly into games like Company of Heroes and Empire total war And as for his specs I have to wait until he comes back on
Yeah for those games he could have only spent ~$500 instead (unless it included monitor and Windows 7).
Yeah for those games he could have only spent ~$500 instead (unless it included monitor and Windows 7).
He already has a monitor and Windows 7 I'm gonna ask for the max res on his current monitor as well
Crap, so he spent $800 on just the PC without Windows and the monitor? And he got 2 gigs of RAM plus he was looking at the GT210?
He has Windows 7 already and a monitor And yeah he should have gone with 4 gb of ram EDIT: Sorry I misunderstood what he told me. The budget was 600$, not 800$, and has 200$ left over.
-bump-
What's with the pointless bump?
Your friend is not so smart, it would seem. He spent 800 dollars on a low end build that could of costed 500 dollars, and to play the games he wanted to play you do not really need a PCI-E graphics card, intergrated would work fine, and on his budget he could get a 5750, 4gb of ram, a medium end processor, a nice case. Did he really have to spend 800 dollars on overpriced stuff? He could of easily bought much better contents if he had learnt what CPU works well with what GPU.
Why must you talk In such a way that leaves a space between each point you make?
Why must you talk In such a way that leaves a space between each point you make?
I do it too. Just makes it easier to read and more inviting. I kinda cringe when I see a big solid paragraph. Spacing points makes it easier to sort the information.
