So, on my new Macbook Pro 13" I decided to install windows. I tested the trial of VMware fusion first, but I decided by the bad performance I got in games that I would test bootcamp. This got me about the same result but now I was forced to lock the HDD given to bootcamp which severely decreased the unused space on my 128gb ssd. I was happy that I could run windows, but the performance is saddening.
Now, is there any way to increase the performance or should I go for some other program/tool to use windows with good performance in games?
What sort of performance issues are you getting? Make sure all drivers are installed correctly.
I get only about 5% of the FPS I'm getting in mac

And the drivers is correctly installed.
Are the official bootcamp drivers up to date? (Boot Camp Software Update 3.2)

I used the ones on the Snow Leopard installation disk :frown:

Most do, just grab the updated ones which should hopefully have some improved graphics drivers. (Don't need to switch to OSX, the download is an EXE)
Okay, so I install it in windows?
Yeah, should be good to go from there.
I know that, for whatever reason, my Snow Leopard (retail) disk did not come with the GeForce 320M driver (or the Ethernet driver, for that matter) for my Mac Mini. Not even the 3.2 update had them, so I got the drivers straight from Nvidia instead.

Intel HD Graphics 3000*
So it does. Try grabbing some drivers from Intel then.
Gave me a boost from 5 fps to about 30 :v:

Is there anything else I can do? I want to run minecraft atleast with as good as possible FPS
When I get my MacBook Pro, I am installing Windows since some programs aren't Mac OS X compatible. Now I asked a friend at the Apple shop if I should use Bootcamp or third party? Parallels is the best I have been told? Would you agree?
I could try that but it costs?
I've got Parallels on my macbook pro, It's not bad. Ran Ubuntu & Windows off it, integrated with the mac nicely. I played TF2/GMod off of it when Steam wasn't on mac and it ran at about 25-30 fps constant but I think you're better running Bootcamp than using a virtual machine for performance.
Okay.
But I heard you don't get the Gesture and automatic switching for graphics if you use bootcamp? Is that correct?

Free trials are available on the official website. Either VMWare Fusion or Parallels Desktop - those are the two most popular/common ones although I'd personally give Parallels a go first.

That's right, it's not included with the Bootcamp drivers sadly.

Well I would like to be able to use the gestures all the time and without the graphics switching you lose battery life? Would parallels be fine to use instead of bootcamp if you play the occasional windows game and some other stuff that isn't Mac?
If you're worried at all about performance, then a virtual desktop probably isn't for you. For everything else, it's pretty good (from what I've heard at least)
I am not that worried about performance (living from a laptop powered with a dual core AMD and ATI X1300). I just didn't know if it was worth that $60...
You can get 3rd party software that can make the gestures work.
