• Should I upgrade or purchase new PC?

I'm not going to write a whole big paragraphy but in a nutshell, about 2 months I spent 150 dollars on 8gbs or ram, I upgraded from Win7 32-bit to Win7 64 bit. I was able to game better then ever, but then after the first week, I started crashing once every 2, 3 days.(Memory Mangement, PFN List corrupt, Straight out blue screen.) After a while it started crashing 2 to sometimes 5 or 6 times a day. I am on summer break so I am very mellow and relaxed so I was like, I can deal with this, no biggie. Then, I started getting graphical issues like missing textures in games, my desktop fucking up, programs not working, (all the errors refering to memory errors). So I was like thats its, obviously my RAM is bad, so I ran Memtest and everything appeared to be fine. Now I finally got to my breaking point, so I took two sticks or ram,( 2 out of 4) hoping everything would be fine, it ended up being worse. I took out the other two, same "symptoms" (internet not responding, steam won't start up, when steam did start up, it would crash immedietly and say Steam has encountered a problem and must shut down). < I thought that could be a virus, So I watched my scheluled scan that night and it found nothing at all. So now, I am think to my self, should I spend 1k - 3k on a new gaming computer or custom built computer, or just spend more money on ram and then more money later this year upgrading my video card which soon will be out of date when BF3 comes out. Edit: ________________________ I want your guys input. So basicly (IE crashed 5 times typing this already so its ganna be even more briefer). So I had bad memory, all 4 sticks I bought had defective side effects, (mulitiple BSODS, graphical problems, just problems in general). Should I spend money on new ram( and new GFX card, mine is like 3 years old and apparently can't handle arma 3 or BF3). So here is my specs I have a Radeon HD 5770 GFX card. Dual Core processor ( Issue too, but thats a whole nother story). So in general, I can't play games atm, I can barley even get online. (Google Chrome stopped working, have to use IE Explore). Garrysmod will barley work, Arma 2 crashes every 25 minutes, and my computer crashes ever 3 hours. (NOT A VIRUS, Full computer scan 4 times.)
No, fix your problem first. Use a S.M.A.R.T utility like HDTune or SpeedFan to see if your hard drive is failing. (This will cause crashes if program data is damaged and BSODs if it hits the pagefile) Also what is your power supply? Also, next time you get a BSOD, tell us what the error line is.
How hot is everything, whats your PSU wattage? See if you can borrow a HDD from someone and see if it still crashes then.
Yeah that sounds like hard drive to me. Alternately, try a Ubuntu liveCD.
