I like to think of this as the Dwarf Fortress of grand strategy games, just because of the enormous amount of shit you can do in it, and the complexity of the political system.
Really a great game, but you should probably have a lot of patience if you want to get into it.
And I spent twice as much on it during Summer Sale. Oh well, at least Old Gods are on sale too.

This is actually the easier game out of all grand strats Paradox made, look up Hearts of Iron and Victoria
A must have is the Clash of Kings mod for it. I don't even know what I'm doing half the time, but it's amazing.
There are also Game of Thrones and Elder Scrolls mods for it.

Victoria 2 is pretty simple compared to Hearts of Iron III.
This game is definitely worth getting.
