• Question on police closing road after accident

I just saw a really bad motorcycle accident and called 911, then continued because there were people already out of their cars next to the guy. When we came back to the same spot the road was closed completely an intersection away in all directions from the accident. The guy was bleeding from scrapes on his face and had a shattered shoulder, and his helmet had gone straight off his head when he was hit (didn't have it strapped on or anything). Does the road being closed suggest that he died? I heard that they close the road so they can perform an investigation in case they have to have evidence for a manslaughter trial. Is this true?
Might have just been them closing the roadway so they could have cleared the road of crap that'd came off of his motorcycle.
Police called us (they get your # from 911 calls) and confirmed he was dead. Asked us if we witnessed anything and we said no since we only saw the debris flying out but not the actual crash.
i remember seeing a motorcyclist decapitated when i was younger from smashing into a truck, seems to have stuck with me since, it was pretty horrible
