Is there a way to buy new laptop key retainer things? I was trying to clean my laptop because I thought the key had something stuck under it and i saw that one of those little tab things has broken off. I managed to get it on but it makes a loud click sound now and is harder to press. Does stores sell this little spacer things? You mean the Scissor switches? I don't know of any place that sells them.

You'd probably find it easy (and not much more expensive) to just replace the whole keyboard. For reference, a replacement backlit keyboard for my dell would set me back £30-40.
It's just one key tho. Ill see if i can get a replacement scissor thing.
Contact the manufacturer, you may get lucky (and by lucky I mean you'll have to mail the entire laptop off and not see it for the next 2-4 weeks, assuming the makers of your laptop have halfway decent customer support). Otherwise, I'd say you're probably going to have to either deal with it or replace the entire keyboard.
Go to best buy and ask if they have one. I go there when I need a jumper and theyll just bring a parts bin out, and look for one.
This has happened to me before, unless you find that just one key, you will have to replace the whole keyboard.
Its not a key. The spacebar key is fine. Its one of the scissor clip things that are under them that broke.
I have had a fair share of keys pop out. None of them are actually broken though, they were just a pain in the ass to get back in. You would probably be better off replacing the whole keyboard though.
I popped a key off in school today. took me almost the whole lesson to get my F key back on. So are you sure it's broken? And not just being a bitch to get back in?
Happened to me but i still haven't fixed it.

I have used this for my key that popped outlast month and it's very simple!
Take one from a lesser used key for the time being perhaps.
