I'm building a new pc (mostly) I was wondering how high the wattage should be on a power supply to keep it stable/working ect. I want to make sure I have enough but I don't want to waste money on extra shit I don't need.
The specs will be:
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R
CPU: Intel i7 950
Graphics: Radeon HD6850 1GB
3x 2GB DDR3 RAM
1 standard dvd drive
500gb hard drive
Sorry about the sketchyness of the hardrive and optical, I'm pulling them from my current PC and haven't had a chance to check them yet :v: None of the stuff is overclocked in any way.

Just for future reference.
Based on that, if you never plan on adding another gpu for crossfire or whatever then with the fans you're going to be powering in whatever case you have and with a little extra headroom just in case, 500W should be plenty. Otherwise, consider anything from 650-700W if you plan on a two-card crossfire setup, or possibly more if you want to overclock cpu/gpu in the future.
Oh thanks a million, I feel stupid that I couldn't find that site for myself
Very interesting though, I was worried I'd need way more than that.
If you're in the US get one of these since they're so cheap
