• Building A $450 PC With Some Existing Parts
    22 replies, posted
I'd like to build a new PC using a few old parts that I don't need to upgrade, specifically my case (Antec 900), DVD reader, operating system, hard drive (RAID 320 GB), and Power Supply (Antec, 550 watts). This obviously means I'll need a new Processor (CPU), Video Card, RAM, and motherboard. I'd like to keep my budget to $450 or so. Thanks in advance.
what's the other existing parts and what brand is the PSU EDIT yes that's right morons, rate me dumb and bad reading because who's ever heard of an edit button I wonder
The existing parts are: my case (Antec 900), DVD reader, operating system, hard drive (RAID 320 GB), and Power Supply (Antec, 550 watts).

But by the way, would it be worth it paying the extra money for DDR3 for a set like this? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820178238
Those mobos I suggested only use ddr2 bro
do not get sparkle
Those mobos I suggested only use ddr2 bro
Darn! Well, if it'd fit in my $450 budget, I'd like to get a DDR3 mobo because I'd like to use DDR3 RAM. Would this be possible?
do not get sparkle
What would you suggest instead then?

Could you please address a few questions for me though? Would it be worth the upgrade from DDR2 to DDR3 and tri-core to quad-core?
I'd suggest getting this http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.216270 and http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231166

DDR2 is fine, DDR3 has no big noticeable performance change unless you're on an i7.
