If I stop listening to music so loud will my hearing recover?

Between listening to music as max on my ipod whenever I can and playing the drums, I have fucked up my hearing to the point where a new set of earbuds on max doesn't seem too loud. If I decrease the volume I listen to my music at by a quarter, will my hearing damage start reverse?
Depends how far it went, if you are lucky it will recover after a few days or weeks.
If you really fucked shit up it is permanent, you should probably go to a specialist.
But lowering the volume should help if it's not permanent?
This damage really started occurring since I began listening to metallica and thrash metal so like early October.
No. The only thing that can save you is the blood of the Wahhachaka pygmy tribe, and they are long extinct. The infection will spread and consume your body, robbing you of your senses and essentially leaving you as a vegetable, only present to take up space. Your family and friends will hate you because of the work required to allow you to live, and one friend will kill you violently in your sleep. You will be thrown into a lake, with a chunk of concrete tied to your foot. You will not be missed.

If you're lucky, it's not permanent, though you'd need to stop entirely or turn it quite a lot down for the best recovery results.
Also, don't listen to stuff above 90dB without ear protection.
85dB to be on the safe side.
Ipod touch
During school days: max usually on the 30 minutes on the bus ride , and then intermittently for 20 minutes after that at a slightly lower volume, then through out the day for small 5 minute periods.
When I play the drums it's at max for up to 4 hours straight.
Depends but if your ear drums have burst already, your screwed. If anything go to an ear doctor.

In that case, max is far too high. Depending on how long you've been doing this for, you might want to book an appointment with an ear doctor at some point.
I threw the volume limit on my ipod touch to about a hair over half.
If you've got tinnitus, no. If it's just ringing then it'll go away. Tinnitus can happen from constant loud noises though, so if it doesn't go away after a few days I'd recommend going to the doctor's to test for tinnitus. It can't be cured but I believe it can be treated. Reading your posts, I wouldn't be too surprised if you have tinnitus.
I actually don't. My ears only ring after I play my drums, not after listening to music only and even still it goes away after about 20 minutes to 3 hours, depends on how long I was playing.
Justin Beiber really fucked up your ears.
LETS SUE!!!

Would something like this help for protection against my drums?
I was half deaf for days after a 3 day rock festival :v:
It was still awesome though.
hearing loss is generally perminent. Go to a specialist.
You are going deaf. Threaten to commit suicide like that other guy.
