If you are concerned about people playing it: It's popular enough to be generally called the "3rd MOBA most playerd moba". It's popular enough to be getting an Xbox 1 port (and it's actually being played there). It has improved a lot from what it used to be back in beta.

If you are concerned about it being fun to play: I think it's fun and good enough for me to spend my time on now and then (for the last two years), but the only way of knowing if the game is good for you is by trying it yourself.
