Looking for price to performance, I spent about 2.5 hours looking at reviews and such for this build, I have a monitor, keyboard and mouse, and OS... everything I need is in that list
But looking for suggestions of you... pc building experts (ha...)
I'm fine with the way it is now, but don't know about the PSU.. or some combos I'm not aware about that would equal to what my build is, that's pretty damn good I'd say for under $600 also the computer tower is actually $50 with a coupon code but didn't wanna make the image even larger.
But if you guys spot what I didn't see that is wrong with this build, tell me please!
Budget less than or equal to $600 maybe $625, but make sure you don't have me wasting money because of combos and coupon codes not given... also less money the better if performance doesn't suffer, noticeably. I'll obviously be playing some games with this.
blah blah well go at it.
Also please use newegg instead of some other site! Thanks.
tl;dr: Good as is to me... but would like some minor improvements, or minor downgrade; Price to Performance. Unless this is already good enough.
Great job on the first build, everything's great and the only thing I'd change (other than better deals that are hard to find) is you're overpaying for RAM, and possibly getting an AM3+ motherboard. Here's the build I put together:

Atec10 -$10.00
EMCKAKD34 -$10.00
HARDOCPX9X7B - $15.00
Total is $583.17 shipped, and you get a better video card.
Maybe get a heatsink with the extra money, like the Hyper 212+ http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103065
Well thanks for your help, I have my build chosen, but I'm sticking with the graphics card I selected, free $50 game, the 6870 you suggested is $20 more with about 7% better performance tops
I'm not much of an overclocker... as in I don't overclock, so the heat sink won't be necessary
Well guess my build wasn't really necessary of being helped with yours came down to be $4 cheaper than it originally was without the free game... not necessary but still free game!
I forgot about the game; still, at least use the CPU/motherboard combo provided, as well as the PSU (it's $10 off with the code). I also think you should either get a cheap 4GB RAM kit since there is 0 difference between the two, or get 8GB RAM ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145315 )for only $9 more.
also: if you prefer the free game over the great deal of a video card, all you have to do is switch to this:

for $588.17 shipped.
[editline]10th September 2011[/editline]
round 3 - cheaper, more RAM, less upgrade-ability (no AM3+): $574 shipped

I'm working on my own $600 build gaming PC, however I have to include the monitor, but not the power supply. I have a 1000w power supply I won at the BSG LAN in Mount Pleasant, MI last spring. So far, my build looks like the below picture. It's a tad over $600, but not enough to cause a fuss. Any suggestions / piece switches you guys would recommend?

All I changed is http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.693504 basically and the better monitor http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824114009 which isn't much more since there's a $20 discount.
