• HDD slow after installed my new SSD in AHCI mode

I have recently installed my brand new SSD as the primary drive with the OS drive on it and change the emulation mode from IDE to AHCI but find that my old data drives are slower than they were before, i am unsure what type of drives they are as it has been so long since last checked but they are fairly old. Any help is appreciated
Define, Fairly old. Some harddrives and even operating systems cannot handle AHCI. This is why IDE is normally used; legacy support.
Your HDD is slow because it is angry with you at the fact that you brought a new SSD without telling him. He will get over it after a while, but until then your stuck with a grumpy HDD.
Have you tried different AHCI drivers?
No new AHCI Drivers have not been used, I would guestimate at 4-5 years easy.
Not to get you from trying to fix the problem, but if you have money for an SSD, I'm fairly sure you'll be able to invest in a Samsung Spinpoint F3.
When i am paid next yes, for now i need to make the old drives work, one of the drives seems to be ejecting it'self from my system whenever i do anything mildy intensive like try and copy a file
