It was also the last one with bots. Was pretty fun going 16 on 64 with bots fucking everywhere.
Now days they release everything unfinished, hope you buy their promise, and then sell you the stuff they cut a few months later
Now days they release everything unfinished, hope you buy their promise, and then sell you the stuff they cut a few months later
You dont even need a product anymore, you can sell just a promise on kickstarter.
God we need this on steam. To relive the glory days.
“There was actually an entirely new game mode that was cut late in the project,” says Patrick O’Shaughnessy, QA Lead at the time.
That hyperlink in the article looks very weird
Vietnam was one of the better Battlefields. Underrated as hell, but the way the maps and uneven factions made combat work was amazing.
I used to have this on CD, shame I don't anymore.
It was also the last one with bots. Was pretty fun going 16 on 64 with bots fucking everywhere.
Battlefield 2 had bots
This was my first contact with battlefield, I was about 7 at the time and my cousin onwed the cd. I played it everytime I went to his house.
2142 did too I'm pretty sure.
It was also the last one with bots. Was pretty fun going 16 on 64 with bots fucking everywhere.
As some others said BF2 and BF2142 had bots but they were rarely ever turned on by server owners, they usually had enough players.
I love the menu music And yes I know that it's exactly the same as White Rabbit [editline]16th March 2014[/editline] I loved Battlefield Vietnam, unfortunately by the time I got it, all the Australian servers were pretty much dead so I spent all my time just playing singleplayer, but I still loved it
This is so weird I was talking to friends about how fun this game was not 2 days ago.
Vietnam was one of the better Battlefields. Underrated as hell, but the way the maps and uneven factions made combat work was amazing.
who underrated BF:V? Back then it had a huge playerbase and there are still some playing it.
God we need this on steam.
who underrated BF:V? Oh man, I loved picking things up with the chopper. Why didn't they continue implementing that?
Whenever someone mentions good battlefields, it's always 1942, 2, or 2142. [editline]15th March 2014[/editline]
it still lists behind 2 and 42. not a big surprise it doesn't make it first but that doesn't make it underrated in general. It's a great game appreciated by all those who know it.
*Cough*
Fucking loved Battlefield Vietnam. I remember so much from it. I remember setting up an ambush for a tank invasion on one map, we had mines, RPG's and the lot all around the US tanks. We all fired at once, or whenever the first person shot, when I had a shittier computer then, my FPS dipped to around 15 or so. There were explosions, rockets everywhere. Then it broke out in a small arms firefight, then helicopters came, with jets bombing areas.. Fuck man, so much fun was had in this. You wouldn't get that in BF3/4.
Project Reality mod actually has a Vietnam mode and I tell you is ungodly fun. The only bad thing is no helicopter music, but then again I usually just play it constantly over local chat for everyone's enjoyment.
Being really interested in the Vietnam War setting now makes me really sad I never got to enjoy this game. Also DICE is pretty lazy doing nothing for this 10 year anniversary.
There is always that Bad Company 2: Vietnam expansion which was pretty decent
There is always that Bad Company 2: Vietnam expansion which was pretty decent
Yea, I love BC2 Vietnam, but I always wanted to try BF:V
There is always that Bad Company 2: Vietnam expansion which was pretty decent
Does anyone still play that?
Does anyone still play that?
No [editline]15th March 2014[/editline] At least last I checked, it was totally vacant.
who underrated BF:V? Back then it had a huge playerbase and there are still some playing it.
A large part of the existing playerbase from the previous game did, because they were so sure it was just a mere reskin. The same happened to BF2142. To this day there are still people too fucked to realise that it was a new game, and a much better one than BF2.
Does anyone still play that?
No-one plays it, sadly, all the servers that are up have ping-kick and are usually in russia. Vietnam was an amazing expansion, so much better than the main game.
