huh, maybe I should give this a try then? I bought this ages ago but never got further than the tutorial due to being overwhelmed by all the game mechanics
From what I've heard this game is easily one of the most confusing games to learn, but once you've gotten familiar with the basics it all runs fairly smooth apparently.
europa universalis is extremely rewarding to learn to play, and once you get into the shit that matters you can ignore some confusing stuff like trade
I literally start playing this game at like 9 pm and then look over and see that somehow it is 5 am. It's fantastic.

So which is better? This or CK2?
So which is better? This or CK2?
completely different games + goals
completely different games + goals
Lemme rephrase. Which is easier
Humble Bundle has this for 75% off for today only
Lemme rephrase. Which is easier
They're Paradox games. The answer is neither.
Lemme rephrase. Which is easier
eu4 is great for filthy casuals.
eu4 is great for filthy casuals.
CK2 and EUIV are both pretty casual compared to EUIII or HoI III. I'd say go with either CK2, EUIV, Darkest Hour, or Victoria II depending on which time period you like the most; you'll do better if you actually like the era. They're all great games, and Darkest Hour even has a nice Fallout mod that's easier than the vanilla game.
This game is awesome, and if you have a good CPU this is the best mod there is for it.
HoI is way worse.
I've owned HoI 3 for years and I still don't know what the hell is going on when I play it.
EUIV is a great game. But if I had to pick what I found more fun between EUIV and CK2, it'd definitely be CK2.
This game is still unstable as hell though, In my current game, the year is 1670 and the game has crashed to desktop a dozen times now, in an ever increasing frequency. The game AI can also be really unfair sometimes as well, like attacking a mostly plains province and the battle gets fought in a mountain terrain or the entire world declaring war on you for punitive reasons.
I don't think I've ever had the game crash on me (except in MP).
I've owned HoI 3 for years and I still don't know what the hell is going on when I play it.
I just let the AI command the forces, I just give the generals the orders. :v: Other than that, I control everything else.
