Sounds great, has an Amnesia feel to it. The Call of Juarez games (not the new one) were awesome and Dead Island was good even if it had its flaws, but maybe this'll be great again.
That screenshot reminds me of Dark Souls.

Well with hopefully a bigger budget, seeing that Dead Island was a success, and a bit of polish, I can see this becoming a good game.
the setting sounds really interesting. most fantasy games are either generic or generic with a bit of mindfuckery on the side, a medieval setting that's dark and horrifying from the get-go is a real breath of fresh air.
So far the blog has posted a few pieces of concept art, and says the dark horror setting was chosen as the team remembers games like Quake and Diablo. "While searching for a dark and mature mood we are constantly referring to early European medieval times,"
Fucking promising, hopefully they nail the atmosphere because you can't just put a game in that setting and expect it to be as good as quake and diablo. You have to get the soundtrack right, the atmospherics right, basically you can't be corny as hell about it like you were with Dead Island. Hopefully the combat isn't terrible like dead island's either.

It was a damned shame that was the only thing we liked about it.

And it got really damn stale, what kept me going was finding new weapons and leveling up and stuff, I don't know it was a pretty sloppy game but for some reason I got addicted.
It's times like these I actually wish I liked Fantasy/Medieval type games.
They sure love to put their players in sewers for some reason

They may take a while to get used to but once you get the hang of it the fighting becomes much more fun as you can have some more control over how your character swings their melee weapons.
Dead Island was fun, but then I got to the jungle and I realized how shallow of a game it really was. The music in the jungle was really good though.
