• Can not turn off Stereo mix

Hi, If i record with my mic while having music playing in winamp for example, i will hear the music in the recording, EVEN if i recorded it with speakers off/unplugged. The stereo mix record volume slider is at 0, and Mute checked. Could this be a problem with my soundcard? Its as if i had stereo mix record volume slider at 5%. VIA HD Audio. EDIT: Okay, i have now diagnozed the problem. Speaker output channel is somehow leaking to the Front mic channel. It seems to be a hardware problem, I think the front audio jacks in my case ARE broken and in contact with eachother. no wonder it was cheap. Solution: i can use the jacks in the back, disable the front mic and it works. though i'd like to use the ones in the front, so if you ideas on how to fix it, please let me know.
Verify in the properties page of your Stereo Mix in the Windows 7 Recording Devices prompt that "Listen to this device" is not selected and that the volume at 0. Also, why are you using Stereo Mix to record your voice? Just set the recording software to your mic input...

Listen to this device is unchecked, volume is at 0. In VIA HD Audio deck settings, Stereo mix is muted, "default recording device" unchecked and volume at 0. This was recorded with all speakers and microphones unplugged from my computer, and i put on some music.
