I mean seriously! I should be able to mix 2 apple products together! but nooooo, the wall charger is too OLD, i have to get a new one! typical apple...
Huh?
The old wallchargers are firewire, they output voltage from 8v to 30v, USB outputs only 5v. To make the circuit board smaller in the new iPod Touches and iPhones, they left out the transformer to go from 8v to 5v, as 5v is what the battery needed to charge. Since firewire is now being phased out, saving space by getting rid of old hardware was a sensible idea. It's not "typical apple" really if you think about it, switching from one technology to another makes sense, you wouldn't, for instance, plug an old 7.2v laptop battery into your new laptop which uses 10.8v would you? It' wouldn't work. The new batteries last alot longer and have newer technology which makes them smaller. Technology evolves and old technology gets dropped. It happens very fast in today's technology boom. you have to take it in stride.
