black ops 2 is the last cod i really enjoyed, something about it was just pretty fun
It...does?
That's slightly odd tbh. It's good, yes, but better than MW1 or any other? I don't know...
MW2 still has a really good feel imo. Probably the best, and it isn't as stupidly op and glitched as everyone makes it out to be.

hahah.. haha, no, it is... i do like MW2 but that game is just rediculous
I remember those care package guys who would run around at sonic speed and lunge at you with commando pro
good times
I remember doing that, was so much fun
"COMANDOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"
hahah.. haha, no, it is... i do like MW2 but that game is just rediculous
not really... It works better than some of its successors, mainly because they let you do shit instead of going "oh no, this is faaaar too op! You can't have a fully stealth build!"
I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I can never get a game in BO2, even with the standard "grab bag" or whatever gamemode.
commando pro and care package + akimbo 1887s made mw2 a fucking hilarious and fun, but ultimately unbalanced and infuriating
and both of those are fixed aswell so, not really unbalanced because of that anymore
what you CAN do is make almost any type of build work, which is really fun
for example, extended mags AA-12 is great, but not great enough to be op, because shotguns have that shitty range
Akimbo .44magnums are awesome aswell, makes you look like Revolver Ocelot :v:
But the best are stealth oriented builds.
They don't have the oomph of noobtube builds, but it feels amazing to walk up into a place without making a beep and shooting the shit out of everyone with silenced weapons. And they're great to play dead.
Heck, just a while ago, I stood next to an entrance, face into the wall, as 2 guys walked into the building on Skidrow. They didn't see me, but I sure heard them... And then they died :D
You just can't do that stuff in newer cods. For starters, the respawns get worser from one game to another, and so do maps, and the meta gets locked into just a few weapons and wont let you make crazy experiments.
Pretty sure every CoD past MW2 allows you to have stealth builds too doe

If anything, BLOPs series allows more experimentation with builds with the token based Create-A-Class and the removal of Stopping Power and Juggernaut (thank goD)

All of this is either objectively or subjectively wrong tbh

Minus Advanced Warfare because the balance on that is still shit to this day
im pretty sure the meta in mw2 was the acr/intervention being the 'best' and most used, a lot more stale than newer games (outside of AW unless you get good varients)
not to mention things like nuke ending games instantly was lame as shit and it became pretty hard to shut people down because of things like heartbeat sensor

I remember BO1 cutting complete stealth builds right from the start. Same for MW3.
You couldn't pick scavenger, which imo is total shit because its one of the most useful perks in the game due to giving you a fuckton of ammo and replenishing it aswell, which I always need to, and that also helps in not having to pick up someone else's gun, that might not have a silencer.
That alone kills the stealth build for me.
Black Ops 2 makes it even worse.
2 stealth based perks on the same slot, so you'll need a wild card there, and one of those perks only works if you're constantly on the move. Joy...
Slot n.2 also has 2 perks with stealth properties, so you end up having to choose one or the other, or both, and only 1 on slot 1.
I feel like they restrict you WAY too much with having to choose.

I beg to difer.
Those examples of builds work almost flawlessly, and stealth builds usually tear shit up easily.
And the respawns are much worser in newer games.
Theres a lot of respawning right next to enemies, sometimes even the enemies that killed you in the first place, and the maps are so much worse, many of them having maze like designs.
I remember CoD4 having extremely great respawning points, actually putting you next to your team, instead of right next to the enemy, and the maps didn't all feel like mazes.

Heartbeat sensor is easily countered. Overrated as all hell, and in all the time I've played MW2, if I saw 10 nukes, thats saying a lot.
Intervention isn't all that great, and the ACR is pretty much the same as the M4 tbh. Nowadays, you can use almost anything and it'll work. Just as long as you don't try to snipe people with shotguns obviously.
And sitrep pro is great. I love it how there still are footstep sound enhancing perks in cod.
I dont think MW2 is the best CoD, but its the most memorable because it had it all, from controversy to killing russians, 'merica attitude, the one man army exploit, noob tubes, commando, tactical nukes and as far as I can tell really was the beginning of the whole 360 noscope xxxproxxx shit. It was a complete shitshow but by golly I thought it was the best kind of shitshow.
I personally think Black Ops 1 was the best CoD post CoD 4, but I havent played anything beyond MW3 so my opinion isn't exactly up to date.
BO1 had the best story maybe. It was fun. Really fun.
MW2's story was enjoyable because... I don't know exactly, but it was. Maybe because it was a trip around the world, into oil rigs, favelas, gulags, mountain bases with blizzards going on...
MW2s mp was fun, hence why I liked it.
By far the worst is MW3. Disliked everything. Can't say anything about newer cods because MW3 was the last drop for me.
But I do enjoy BO2 aswell.
mw3 was just infinity ward saying 'oh, cod 4 sold really well, mw2 sold really well, so lets copy paste mw2 with extremely little effort (especially with the campaign) and it'll sell like hotcakes!' then they basically did the same with ghosts except with an ayylien mode and that screwed up royally.

"Good feel" ? A lot of PC players boycotted MW2 for good reason too. The old games are old games, Blops 2 is likely the closest to being the best while not clearly being an old game that looks bad and is missing a bunch of stuff people want out of CoD. Chances are people who update yearly didn't with Blops since Ghosts was pants and AW didn't make waves.
AW was good until the glaringly bad issues with the balance were discovered and infinitely exploited, with zero chance of getting any fixes to this day.
From the outside it looked like it did a bit of a Titanfall and everyone just forgot about it after launch. A CoD game could never expect to have the longevity of a game like Titanfall, but Titanfall didn't last long anyway and I really can't explain why.
