some people never learn, and people who are still preordering anything at all after all the warnings and burns are probably too late for help tbh

Pretty much. I don't think I've ever seen someone hype for a game say "Wait, that dude on Facepunch is right, this games gonna fuckin suck".

Then you get the people who say "Don't tell me what to do." Fucking idiots.

Well, I mean people do have a right to do whatever they want with their money.

that's right and it's the positive mentality everyone should have
but they're still idiots for buying into games based on zero promises

that's not to say buying into a promise is smart to begin with, but people who go "don't tell me what to do" say it because they don't want to listen to simple advice

This as pretty much what i was getting at. Something like No Man's Sky has had vague promises, so pre-ordering it with little to no info is pretty stupid. Not saying people can't get hyped or shouldn't spend money on stuff. I own plenty of stuff that i would call stupid. But I've never bought something without checking up on the product.
Pre-ordering is the entire reason Watch Dogs got several different pre-order versions, because the company knew it could get away with terrible business practices.

sums up 'pre order culture perfectly'. people pre-order shit with no info but its like... hey guys remember aliens colonial marines...remember when you preordered it???
nice going lol

I wont say preordering is 100% bad, I do it VERY rarely, but people just don't care do they
that being said I'm PROBABLY going to buy this for myself or the bf once its on sale, its a nice looking game all things considered
[editline]10th August 2016[/editline]
and shit I'm not even mad that people may have wasted their money, that's fine, its their money
pre-ordering makes me mad because it funds bad games
