I have just upgraded my PC, mobo: m2n-e SLI cpu: Phenom II x4 940 BE AM2+ And it doesnt boot up, everything is plugged in all the fans are spinning, all apart from the CPU fan which spins slightly then stops and it IS plugged in all the way before you say that, standoffs are installed, ram is all working, could my mobo not be giving enough juice to my CPU for the fan to spin? or is there something worse wrong? There is no disply on the monitor and the keyboard is not lightling up I have built plenty of PC's and the time I build my own, it all goes wrong Help Would be very much appreciated [editline]06:46PM[/editline] Also no error sound is made
Fuse? Have you double checked it's not loose?
I have triple checked it is not loose, according to this list: http://support.asus.com/cpusupport/cpusupport.aspx?SLanguage=en-us it doesnt not support it yet it is a AM2+:bang::crying:
sounds like cool n' quiet is enable'd nd the fan will only spin when it gets hot enough
no, AM2+ processors won't work in AM3 motherboards, only the other way around

TY Combine Guru will be getting this one http://www.ebuyer.com/product/161492# and its a Asus, which I used before and the bios is very well layed out/good overclocking options will get that
no, AM2+ processors won't work in AM3 motherboards, only the other way around
what does that have to do with anything? the problem was with a AM2+ CPU in a AM2 board :v: Side Note - How far can a stock Phenom II fan go with overclocking, it looks at lot better designed heatpipes/fans than the previos ones of the Athlon X2 I have
well it's a phenom ii BE so it will have a fairly decent cooler..
what does that have to do with anything? the problem was with a AM2+ CPU in a AM2 board
fuck, misread the thread Also AM2+ and AM2 are completely different.
am2+ cpus just need a bios flash
Well this is a picture of my new Phenom 2 x2 BE and the cooler doesn't look well all that decent, but I have never had experience with them. Maybe it is a good cooler?
There okay but can get very loud.
So what do you think you could OC them to if the cores were unlocked (I have the right Motherboard to) on stock cooling?
