• Powering gig with car batteries?
    6 replies, posted
Me and my band have been wondering how we could play gigs in outdoor areas (Sort of like generator parties) but we dont have any generators to do that, so we thought it might be possible to do it with car batteries. I've done a bit of reading and apparently it is possible, so this is where i need your help: I want to power a 100W bass amp, a 100W guitar amp and a microphone and maybe some basic lights. How many batteries will i need, what other equipment will i need, what are the risks and how much might this cost. Thanks in advance for any help.
buy a generator. it will be easier and far cheaper.
How long is the concert?
Maybe 1-2 hours Also tell me about portable generators, google didnt turn up much
Well as long as you aren't using high intensity lights a single car battery should do you, but just incase bring jumper cables and a second car battery.
Ok thanks, ill see what else google and some people i know have to say about setting it all up
