So for the past few days I've been trying to overclock my Phenom II X4 965BE since I want to get the most out of it when playing Planetside 2.
Yesterday I got the clocks up to a stable 4GHz and ran Prime95 for three hours without a single error. That gave me a huge fps boost in Planetside but occasionally my fps would surge down to under 10.
I started investigating and I noticed in cpu-z that my core voltage would drop to about 1.02v from atleast 1.45v for a little while, and that was causing the fps drops.
I tried googling around and everyone was suggesting that it might be Cool'n quiet that's causing the voltage drops, but I had it off from the beginning so that can't be the problem.
I've tried lowering the clocks but that does not seem to help either. Also temperatures don't seem to be the problem either, because the max temps I've had whille under maximum stress are about 53-55C
I have a 700W Nexus PSU.

Oh yeah I also updated my BIOS but that didn't help either.
Have you checked the voltage settings in the BIOS?

Yeah the voltages are set correctly in the BIOS
