I might give it another shot. I tried it before when they had a free week and I didn't even play for a full 24 hours before I stopped. Maybe a different class, or higher level content will make it more enjoyable.
Biggest thing that stopped me from playing Guild Wars 2 is that you don't have enough abilities and options when it comes to changing up how you play the game. You pick a guy and do the same thing for however many hours it takes to hit 80.
It's not even free to play, this is a complete lie. You are restricted to level 15 and can't do anything. This is just a marketing name for a demo. Edit : seems like it wasn't true and it's really free to play. Good news.

Shortly after launch I bought an account off of a friend who pre-ordered, but ended up not liking the game. Not too long after that I stopped playing, because I just could not get into the game. I might sound old school, but when I play an MMO I like having DPS, heal, and tank roles. Since Guild Wars 2 lacked that, and the kind of ability customization that Guild Wars 2 had I decided to just sell the account to another friend. It's a shame, because I know it's a really solid game with a lot of great content, but it's just not for me.
I'm not a fan of these types of things were I buy a game and then a little while later it becomes free for the public. The restrictions aren't even that bad. [editline]29th August 2015[/editline] Maybe I should just stop buying games and wait for them to become F2P
Well, if the servers died out due to underpopulation you'd have no game.
They didn't exactly do a hell of a lot to entice existing players to stay. The expansion was an idea in the right direction, but then they overpriced it and bundled it with the base game. That pissed off existing players because they felt that they should have got a discount on it since the base game is included. Their solution? Just make the base game essentially free.
