That was a strangely cheap looking trailer. Continent is looking good though.

Considering there trailers normally feature like 100+ people this was kinda week. It looks like they had about 5 people to be in the trailer.
SOE's kinda focused on SOE live and the whole EverQuest: Next reveal so it's expected
Proud of you guys, 4 posts in and no mention of PS2's #1 problem like every PS2 related thread!
Has the performance of this game improved at-all? I have trouble running it steadily on a good rig.
I do like the variations in continents though, it might get me playing the game again.

heh.
seriously though can we stop the general discussion of a game's problem in news threads and instead discuss the actual news piece
this goes for all games
every PS2 news thread is complaining about performance
every GW2 news thread is how it didn't revolutionize the world
every DOTA 2 or LoL news thread is how some people don't like the genre and how terrible their communities are
every Star Citizen news thread is about the amount of hype it generated and how it won't live up
every minecraft or dayz news thread is about how overrated they are
every Skyrim news thread is how Morrowind and Oblivion are a million times better
and like this for every single article in this section

I know optimization's a bitch, but in this case we need to probably focus on something semi-related to that; they're adding a whole 'nother continent yet again when there's probably more important things to work on. Did they ever fix the metagame so that there's a reason to capture points yet, or is it still pointless fighting and unblockable zerg rushes?
people always mention performance problems, but i've personally never had a problem since beta
the game is cpu-bound and will always be, you can't have less than a high end quad-core with the amount of players around you and i doubt they can fix that

They need more continents before they can fix the metagame. Once Hossin, Battle Islands and the resource revamp are in, then comes continental conquest.

I have a high-spec computer by today's standards (i7 4670k and gtx 770) and still can't get 60 FPS on all low settings. I would say that's pretty terrible optimization.
Is PS2 worth getting into if you have nobody to play it with? I haven't played it yet since everything I've seen says you basically have to play it with a squad if you're going to play at all.

Meanwhile my 560ti and i7 3770k runs it at above 60 most of the time, dipping to about 45 in really big fights. On high settings.
How does a better system than mine get worse performance, it makes no sense to me.
