Cannot use Vista Serial code on my laptop to reactivate Windows

So I had windows 7 RC7100 on my laptop where I used to have vista, I installed vista last night and it wouldn't allow the windows home premium serial code that is printed on the bottom of my laptop, why is it not working? as the activation time runs out in 2days, I dont want to be stuck. Oh and on the laptop sticker it says "OEMAct" on it, what does that mean?

oh and Im using a new Vista OEM Home Premium 32bit Disc as my laptop did not coem with any form of disc (no driver/software disc just a recovery partition which took up like 40GB)

I used microsofts phone activation and I activated it via phone using my old vista key. Problem Solved
