Well, last weekend, my last PSU blew up (Probably due to low quality, my father bought it with the tower, which came for $400 for a dualcore 3GHz (rated 4.02 GHz), 2GBs of RAM and a 250GB HD.Last time I'm letting him pick what he's buying me, I neither needed the RAM nor the HDD, HE did). I started research, but I'm getting annoyed.
So right, about the PSU itself. I would need a minimum 430W PSU (that's what my latest was, and I could top off everything fine) which is known to be viable (I don't want to be swapping it for at least 3 years), is top-mounted and ideally which costs less than $60 as my budget is really limited (MAXIMUM $70 I'd say). Plus, the provider MUST have Canada delivery, as I neither have the money or outside help to get it delivered anywhere else than at home.
Anyone think they could help/know the deal I would be searching for?
Before anyone mentions it, no I cannot go get my PSU repaired as it didn't come with a guarantee (He took it off so he could save a few bucks), and it's the circuit itself that got fried. That, and there's probably only 2 people in the area that even knows what a PSU is, so computer stores are complete rip-offs.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Thanks a lot, but it doesn't quite feels like what I would need. One fact I forgot to add (just added to OP) is that I would need a top-mounted PSU. That, and according to the reviews, it would be ideal for a business computer but seems weak for gaming purpose, which is exactly what the computer waiting for is.
About the top-mounted PSU, just tell me if the so-called "bottom-mounted PSUs" can also fit in upper mounts.
a PSU is a PSU, there's no specific "mounts" and they're not made for specific purposes, they just power the system
and if you're going by newegg reviews, ignore them
90% of them are idiots and 9% are people complaining about something that has nothing to do with the product, delivery or RMAing or something
What videocard do you have? That's really what determines your minimum. Especially since not all PSUs are created equal. Your old PSU may have burnt out due to low quality or because it was underpowered or a little of both.
It would be for a rig running one 7200 RPM IDE HDD, one 16X DVD writer (IDE), one SATA HDD, and a NVidia 9500GT (If this needs PCI-E external power, tell me. I never even plugged in any extra power and still ran GTAIV). the Antec power supply calculator estimated my peak load at about 400W (with 50% capacitor aging, because I don't want to need to buy a new one for quite a while), but I don't want to be flirting along the edges of the PSU, I want to be sure to have some slack.
And I just asked my dad; turns out my PSU was an older, second-hand PSU salvaged. He bought the computer from a little shop downtown.
Futureshop has some BFG PSUs.

$69, though instant shipping if they have em in store.

Same for me too
This. Use this code for $5 off. Should come to $70.

Good news is that with a 9500GT you can get by with a 350W PSU w/18A on the 12v output. You should be able to find a quality and reasonably priced PSU(Antec would do nicely) for your system. The card does not need a 6 pin PCI-e connector to the PSU.
However, keep in mind that a quality PSU can last a long time, and if you upgrade or build a new computer you can use your previous PSU- IF you got one powerful enough to handle the new components. You'd need to spend a bit more than $60 though.
I'd go with this Antec if you're not worried about using it in a future build. The power calculators tend to overestimate, since they are trying to compensate for all the people who buy cheap PSUs that don't put out the rated power they claim.
I'm not sure if you live in a state with a Compusa store, but they're selling Ultra LSP 750W PSU's for only $60, they usually go for $80 or so.
Juice, just because they are high Watt doesnt mean they are good, though i've never heard of Ultra, and they may be amazing.
Just get a 450/500w so you have space to upgrade
I know that, mine works just fine though. Mine's working fine, I just went from a 400W to a 550W to my current 750W and it's fine. I'm not saying to go out and buy a 750W, but if you can find one with great reviews and for a great price there's no sense in not getting it and settling for something a couple hundred Watts less, you're probably going to regret having to buy a new one in the long run.

That's what I was aiming for in the first place...
Also, dad again is being a fucktard. I'm keeping the 550W Antec in consideration (Especially since Brendon was nice enough to provide a rebate code) for after I visit the local stores and prove my dad wrong (he claims the local shops will be cheaper for the same parts).

Consider shipping though. Some things are a bitch to ship, especially heavy stuff, CPU's can have some weight to them, shipping isn't always free. You might get a rebate, but you could end up paying it back for shipping which would defeat the purpose assuming it's the same price at the store.
If an Ultra is available, get one. One of the best PSU's out there.
I just went to the local shops he claims are better.
First, the shopkeeper said this himself, when I asked about what manufacturers I could find here: "It depends. I just buy it from some guy, and we've got what we've got."
So yeah. What I could get at a local store is a $35 PSU that is lucky to be running after a year, is likely to be noisy as hell AND probably has very low efficiency.

If its a frys/microcenter/compusa it will be good.

If I had such a store nearby, this thread would not exist.
Also, I'll let the dust settle down for a while, then I'll probably buy the one Brendon posted.
