New CPU fits into motherboard, but the lever won't fold down. (AMD)

Hi facepunch... first build here, so I don't know much. Anyway, I just bought a Asus M4N68T-M motherboard with a AMD Athlon II X2 255. When I pull up the lever, the CPU fits in (with the two triangles matched up), but the lever won't fold back down, staying upright. I meet resistance if I try to push it past 5-10 degrees. Any help?
Get an intel processor? :V
I had the same problem with my mates computer, we just used pushed and it works now so eh.
Happened to me, just push it harder.
There should be resistance, when you push it all the way you will hear a sound like velcro.
Yeah that sound scared me at first then I realized it was supposed to do that.

You have seen some online videos?
mabey you bent a cpu pin
I shat myself the first time i put my CPU in. I thought it was going to break. All you have to do is push down REALLY hard. Just make sure everything fits in first though or else somethings gonna break.
Thanks all... I just pushed harder, lol. Guess I was just being over-cautious. Anyway, just turned it on and now installing the OS. Thanks for the help.
Use some elbow grease. It's normal, that's how the CPU stays in nice and tight.
...tighter the better right fellas?
try to push a bit harder and try not to break anything
Happened with a friends PC too, damn thing was hard to get in. In the end it was just about pushing, but it was pretty difficult because it's not just about applying as much force as you can (unless you want to break something). Just be sure that everything else is correctly in place, the push.
I remember when I first built my computer the lever wouldn't go all the way down so I was like "I guess it doesn't need to go any farther down" even though it was kind of hanging off.. thank god I came to my senses and pushed it harder and it clicked in.
