I need a good $800 build. I don't need a mouse/keyboard/monitor/OS. Just the pc itself. I live in the US. I don't know much about PC building, so I'm sorry I can't give you much more info than that. I don't really care whether or not I go with ATI or Nvidia, I just want the most performance for my money. Help and multiple opinions are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I'm like this, I used to be an extreme NVidea fan boy, now I realise it really doesn't matter at all. I've turned over to ATI a lot more than I used to due to the fact that they are much cheaper for money these days. Although, that's the only reason. There's no point in letting fanboyism getting in the way of a good deal and value for money.

That's far better than what I thought I would get for $800... Thanks a ton. So what does everyone else think, is this a good deal?
why are people like you so rare these days
Because nobody wants to face the fact that they just spent £400 on something that's as fast as a £200 card from a different brand.
Because nobody wants to face the fact that they just spent £400 on something that's as fast as a £200 card from a different brand.
So then they become addement that theres is better.
Wow. That's far better than what I thought I would get for $800... Thanks a ton. So what does everyone else think, is this a good deal?
it's a pretty sweet deal. I don't like the psu much though. I'd personally swap it out with an OCZ ModXtreme, or maybe a Cooler Master branded power suply. Only used an Antec PSU once, and, well, it did what it was supposed tho, for a full year till I bought a new computer.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161292&cm_re=4870-_-14-161-292-_-Product What if I got this instead, since it's only a few dollars more? Will I get better performance with it, and is it compatible with the rest of the build sbradford26 put together? If not, what do I need to change to make it work?

Also with the 5770 you get direct x and eyefinity and if you got a 4870 you should get a much cheaper one.
It's compatible. As for which is better, with the 5770 you get DX11 and Eyefinity technology, but the 4870 is ever so slightly a better performance card. [editline]03:48PM[/editline] fuck ninjas

Alright. I think I'll go with the 5770. Again I'm just looking for the best value. So any other suggestions are welcome, of course. Thanks again, sbradford26. You've be really helpful.
will you be overclocking?
I kind of doubt it.
I kind of doubt it.
Okay just asking cause the coolermaster v8 is a very good deal right now.
The optical drive you chose for me is now out of stock. What do recommend I get instead?
