Recovering CD Keys/Accessing the Administrator login?
7 replies, posted
The title basically says it all.
I lost the CD key to far cry 2, but its installed on my PC.
I'm trying to find it because I wanted to play online, but I need a key.
Another reason why is that I first installed and played Farcry 2 on the Administrator login, and I think it might have the key.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Crytek

it's also on the back of the 28 page user guide inside with the 5 discs. Just below the splinter cell ad.
fc2 isn't by crytek

uses CryEngine

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Ubi
if it's not in Crytek, although some guy found it in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Crytek
What do I do with HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Crytek?
I know there's a program out there that recovers keys/serials from all sorts of installed programs, even Windows. I'll get back to you when I can remember it...
Try this:

Just use regedit then go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software find the folder for far cry 2 and then look for the key in one of the registry files, also check HKEY_LOCAL_USER\Software for it.

Only scans software under microsoft,
and since Far Cry 2 is under ubisoft, only Assassins Creed is the only folder.
