Probably the only thing I'll use it for is just to get the Boomerang immediately. Whatever dungeon I have to do to get it, that'll be the first one. Then I'll play like normal.
Now I'm curious as to what Aonuma's mysterious hobby is.
Now I'm curious as to what Aonuma's mysterious hobby is.
Its expensive and requires equipment rentals. Could be something like Diving, Climbing, something like that.

Why would he be embarrassed about a hobby like that, though?

I'm pretty sure I read a review that the boomerang isn't required to beat any part of the game
edit:
I never once used the boomerang in the entire game (none of the main dungeons required it), instead favoring the wind-producing tornado rod and bombs.
I have to say that's a pretty cool reason to include it. Can't wait to get this game!

Actually I'm pretty sure that's the only way to get most of the items.
Actually I'm pretty sure that's the only way to get most of the items.
Seriously? So you have to constantly rent them? Yeah, I'll honestly say I'm not completely alright with that. I'd like to actually be able to keep them if I find them the normal way. Or find them normally at all. I guess I'll just have to see when it comes out.

Yeah, from what I hear there isn't even the option to do it the normal way. You get almost everything from the start, and that's it. I was pretty damn disappointing when the I saw the announcement of the shop.

Bondage.

You also lose all rented items on death. It makes ruppee collection much more important, and gives you a bigger incentive to not die.

He likes to buy expensive vacuum cleaners, use them in his house and return them to the store.

After awhile you can choose to buy the item and keep it permanently, and when you do then you can do sidequests to upgrade the item into something better
After awhile you can choose to buy the item and keep it permanently, and when you do then you can do sidequests to upgrade the item into something better
That's a little better, but it just feels like such a serious misstep. Being able to buy items and such is pretty neat, and doing sidequests to upgrade them, that is cool. But making every item a rental is just a serious departure. Link, the Hero of Leasing Agreements!

They tried something new, I personally like the idea because it means I can get the hookshot right away, and take the dungeons on in just about any order I damn well please, kinda like how you could in the original.

People say that but you needed the ladder for almost every dungeon past the one you get it in and if you don't have the heart containers to get the better swords you're never going to get through any dungeon past level five

hey, people have done a swordless quest before. Beside it's possible to just go to the dungeon storing the stepladder and snagging it
You also lose all rented items on death. It makes ruppee collection much more important, and gives you a bigger incentive to not die.
People always go on about how having consequences for dying makes it more exciting to stay alive, but I very rarely experience that. And making Rupees more valuable sounds like one of the most trivial problems they could "fix."
I still think this Link should be called the Hero of Leasing Agreements.

I'd take that over "THIEF checked the chest, wow! This is a nice chest!"
