• Core i9 Benchmarks!

from what i see, its pretty fucking FAST.
Two Xeon W5590 processors have been tested by "JCornell” with the multi threaded benchmark Wprime v2.00. Due to SMT the system with its two 6-core CPUs had 24 virtual cores. The engineering samples were running at 2.4 GHz and delivered benchmark results which a common Core i7 would only if clocked to noticeably higher frequencies. The 32M test has been finished in6.177 seconds and the 1024M test was done after 145.688 seconds. 6 core Xeons have been out for awhile now and they're NOT called core i9's. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819117176
refresh page, i corrected it, as I didn't quite read the screenies. [editline]06:17AM[/editline]
6 core Xeons have been out for awhile now and they're NOT called core i9's.
talk to the article. not me
Well, I just came. I also shed a tear for my Q6600, he feels bad about his exsitance now.
What with this pic [img] [/img] :S Look at the background. [editline]12:18PM[/editline]
Well, I just came. I also shed a tear for my Q6600, he feels bad about his exsitance now.
I have it too. :P
Breast, the CPU-Z is in between 2 of them.
refresh page, i corrected it, as I didn't quite read the screenies. [editline]06:17AM[/editline] talk to the article. not me

But now new rumors say that Intel's 6-core CPU Gulftown will be traded under the name Core i9.
You read the article first.
:S Look at the background.
What's so ":S" about it? Are you afraid of boobs?
You read the article first.
you read the newegg link silly! That's a DUNNINGTON 6 CORE XEON. the pic has a Golftown 6 CORE XEON.
holy fucking shit, also note LGA 1366 yeahhhhhh
holy fucking shit, also note LGA 1366 yeahhhhhh
yeah its nice to know that with a nice bios update you can drop a Golftown i9 in
they will cost you an arm though [editline]06:28AM[/editline] maybe a leg too
they will cost you an arm though [editline]06:28AM[/editline] maybe a leg too
ill be scared to find out the price of those :Dawkins102: [editline]06:38AM[/editline] sum moar pics and epic chart [img_thumb]http://www.pcgameshardware.com/screenshots/original/2009/07/kaigai1.jpg[/img_thumb]
What's so ":S" about it? Are you afraid of boobs?
No, but i went on this page and it wasnt there, then i refreshed and it was there. O.O Thought it got something somehow. Lol
Intel has just revealed the new Core name pattern but now there are rumors about possible CPUs of the Core i9 series.
Rumors that they will call it I9, But we don't know, Btw, I doubt a pro site would post pictures of benchmarks with tits background, so i think this is fake. [editline]12:03PM[/editline] Oh and because its intel of course it will be pricey as shit, But if i had the money it wouldn't stop me from getting one :v:
Well, I just came. I also shed a tear for my Q6600, he feels bad about his exsitance now.
I feel your pain... EDIT: I'll feel even worse when I get one of these ten years after they're released because of the price.
You read the article first.
You were flipping shit in another thread about someone referring to Lynnfield as i5. What happened? It turns out they will be called i5. Stop before you make a fool of yourself again.
Well, I just came. I also shed a tear for my Q6600, he feels bad about his exsitance now.
Think about how my E7400 must feel..
Think about how my E7400 must feel..
But if the CPU does all that you need it to why would you think/need to upgrade, my AMD 6000+ has served me 2-3years, but im gonna be buying a Q8400 rig and that should last me the same amount of time and will perform in games at a decent fps so I need not worry after that. I was think of getting a Core i7 rig, but all that power would probably be wasted as I dont use power hungry applications apart from GTA4 so I just settled for a mainstream CPU rather than enthusiast :buddy:
Think about how my E7400 must feel..
i wonder how my E7200 felt after I dropped it down the garbage disposal. [editline]12:36PM[/editline] don't expect good frames in GTA IV with the Q8400... [editline]12:37PM[/editline] and I just bought a fucking Q9400 come on Intel fsdsfsdf

They ARE DIFFERENTZ LOLZ :iiam: [editline]03:37PM[/editline]
i wonder how my E7200 felt after I dropped it down the garbage disposal. According to intels stupid naming scheme. Lemme get a chart.. It shows that the Core 2s are the first "Core" models. :eng101: [editline]03:39PM[/editline] Its on TPU, too. http://www.techpowerup.com/100612/Core_i9__Gulftown__Comes_to_Life.html [editline]03:43PM[/editline] off topic, old but still awesome, 4GHz @ 0.8 Vcore http://alienbabeltech.com/main/?p=9700 clarkdale!
yeah we went over this months ago
From what I hear, it sounds like AMD is going to beat Intel to 6-core consumer CPUs. I know AMD already has 6-core Opterons, but I'm not sure if Intel has 6-core Xeons yet. [editline]01:12PM[/editline] According to Newegg, Intel has one six core Xeon for $2400, and AMD has 7 ranging from $450 to $2600
So what? Current prices don't mean anything.
I have an E4500, I ENVY the things you guys throw in the trash.
I know it's unreasonable, but I like to buy processors in powers of 2 core-wise. you know, 2, 4, 8. I don't think I'll be getting one of these for any reason.
Every time I've purchased a new CPU, I've doubled the number of cores. Athlon XP > Athlon X2 > Core 2 Quad
most people do
My dad quadrupled with his last upgrade. Octupled if you count hyper-threaded cores. :v:
And here I thought that you needed a core count to a power of two. Huh. That's some fast compile times, to say the least.
