• Completely removing LILO bootloader? (Linux)
    0 replies, posted
To try and fix a broken Windows partition, I tried to install LILO and force fsck on bootup (this was dumb on my part I know). So, after knowing that did fuck all, I tried to completely remove lilo from all partitions on my harddrive (sudo lilo -U /dev/sda along with sudo apt-get remove lilo). It went without error, and I booted correctly with Grub for a few times after, so I thought it was fixed. However, for some reason, Lilo is now showing up again instead of grub. Does anyone know what may be causing this? [editline]19th June 2013[/editline] Using Linux Mint, too.
