I came here because I'm worried about my laptop. Since the beginning of July, the fan has constantly been on full blast. It hasn't been like this before, ever. I downloaded Speccy, and it says that the CPU is running at 86 degrees Celcius (180.2) average on both cores while not gaming and having Chrome, Steam, Avast, and Spybot running at the same time.
It's a Toshiba Satellite A350 that I bought in January 2009 with an AMD Athlon(tm) X2 Dual-Core QL-60. I have 4 Gigs of DDR2 and an ATI Radeon 3100 graphics card.
It only started behaving like this and getting really hot a couple weeks ago. I don't know if it has something to do with weather, it's been averaging 25 celcius every day of the week so far here.
Here's a screenshot of Speccy's information

Any sort of help would be appreciated. I'm wanting to know why it's so damn hot and How I can cool it down without taking it into a repair store.
Have you tried getting a Compressed Air can and blowing it in the ventilation openings while the computer is off. Dust may be obstructing the airflow in your laptop.
I'll try that.
If what freaks said doesn't work, it could be your laptop coolers malfunctioning. Try opening it up and dusting, in worst case send it back to your seller if you have a warranty.
Mine used to reach 100-105 regular when I played CSS, apart from burning my leg a little never broke my laptop. Got terrible FPS though.
